About the Club

Join the Mailing List to recieve information and announcements about the club!
The Club was founded Spring quarter of 2003, beginning with a general meeting that introduced Calligraphy, which had a large turnout. Since then, the Club has been meeting every Sunday in RC001  from 1 to 3 pm, except when special workshops are scheduled.   We offer all the supplies, including brushes, ink, paper and references, and instruction.

After a successful first few years, we come even stronger this year with a new instructor, some fun new supplies, and trips to the Phoenix for dim sum.  The new workshop will cover the basics of Calligraphy in the remaining 3 weeks of this quarter, but each person will also be able to practice on his or her own, with personalized instructions. Attending Club this quarter looks to be even more fun than ever, so come and join us!

To learn about the weekly meetings and what goes on, please go to the Meetings page. Calligraphy Workshops Offered
by Chinese Calligraphy Club
at the University of Chicago.

The Chinese Calligraphy Club (CCC) at the University of Chicago has been offering weekly calligraphy lessons at the U of C since 2002. We were also invited to Evanston High School in Chicago to give a Calligraphy demostration and workshop that was greatly appreaciated by their students. We have offered a workshop to the children at the Gary Comer Youth Center and we also participated in the Hyde Park Art Festival, and were one of the most popular activities here.  The University of Chicago's annual Pan Asia festival is one of our favorite activities.  We provide instruction in calligraphy and share our understanding of Chinese calligraphy and culture. If your company, school or organization would like us to do a workshop or give a lecture on Chinese calligraphy, we will be very happy to do that. Please contact Sibo at phc@uchicago.edu  if you are interested.
